Motive 2

  1. At only 76cm high, the Motive 2 is an exceptionally compact floorstander for those who want all the musical performance of a Neat floorstander without taking over the living room.
  2. It is a two-way, bass reflex design with the same port and plinth arrangement as the Motive One. The plinth offers a stable platform for the speaker whilst providing a slight backward tilt to maintain the ideal angle for optimum performance.
  3. In common with its bigger brother, the Motive Two surprises with its astonishing bass and beautifully open mid range.

Motive SE 2

  1. Changes to the internal bracing and damping, as well as a revised tuning, crossover, and new compliantly-mounted tweeter, all help to maximise the performance of the Motive 2,  transforming it into a discreet and compact design with serious audio credentials.
  2. There were astonished faces as the tiny SE-2s filled the room with a full range performance that completely belied their understated appearance.
  3. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish between the SE2 and its brother. The main clue being the inclusion of the EMIT planar/ribbon type tweeter, which replaces the inverted titanium dome used in the standard Motive 2. This new version of the EMIT device is compliantly mounted to provide isolation from cabinet vibration effects. With its extended frequency response and natural representation of tonal colour, it helps to elevate performance far beyond what one might expect from such a diminutive and domestically acceptable enclosure.
    Internally, the cabinet includes additional bracing and damping, and is divided into discrete volumes. The tweeter is housed in a dedicated section to isolate it from the back pressure developed by the main LF/Midrange drive unit. This main drive unit now operates in a smaller internal volume than previously. The downward firing reflex port has been retuned accordingly. This brings tighter bass, with better all-round control. The Motive SE2 also delivers higher SPLs when required.
  4. The hard-wired crossover has been re-optimised using upgraded components, including differing value polypropylene film capacitors wired in parallel and Oxygen-Free Copper air-cored inductors with reinforced glass-fibre formers.
  5. The Motive SE is extremely revealing without being overtly analytical, and it paints a huge sonic picture, making it the perfect solution for those seeking a superior musical experience from a compact and stylish package.

Motive 1

  1. Although this is the taller of the two floorstanders in the Motive range, the Motive 1 is nevertheless a compact and elegant model. It will blend discreetly into your living room whilst its performance gives little away to larger and more expensive models.
  2. This loudspeaker uses a two and half-way configuration where the lower unit reproduces bass to underpin the full-range bass-mid driver. The bass reflex port is fitted to the bottom panel of the cabinet and is vented through an outlet in the stylishly sculpted MDF plinth.
  3. The tweeter is the outstanding unit used throughout the Motive range which features a huge magnet assembly and a 25mm inverted titanium dome. This type of tweeter is usually only found in expensive high-end loudspeakers and is therefore an exceptional inclusion to the Motive designs.
  4. In spite of the compact dimensions, the Motive One manages to accurately reproduce genuinely low bass notes with spacious and well-focussed stereo imagery.
